Summary: The center awards grants to organizations that undertake systematic social justice litigation across its 15 issue areas of interest, which are: access to benefits, children’s rights, discrimination, domestic violence, due process, environmental justice, helath care, homelessness, housing, Native American rights, prisoner’s rights, refugee and immigration rights, veterans’ rights, and voting rights. Applications must be for a specific social justice legal case, including the filing of an appeal. Ideal cases will significantly advance the eradication of systemic injustices faced by marginalized persons and/or groups in the United States and establish a legal precedent of significant importance to social justice.
