Summary
Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots network cabling facilities and equipment to ensure optimum network usage and quality.

Job Description
Duties:

  • Install structured cabling and equipment for voice, data, wireless, security, and video for inside plant service.
  • Troubleshoot and install hardware devices associated with voice, video and wireless services
  • Manage installation of new conduit systems in new construction and renovations and ensure standards.
  • Maintains cabling test records, plant labeling and documentation.
  • Maintains inventory of tools and materials.
  • Reviews cabling work performed by outside contractors to ensure that guidelines and timelines are met.
  • Perform telephony adds/moves/changes
  • Meet with departments to assist in planning move, add, and change work as required.
  • Install, inspect and maintain firestopping in inside plant conveyance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Reporting Relationships

Direction Received: Reports to the Manager, Network Infrastructure Services

Direction Given: May provide functional guidance to outside contractors

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires High School diploma/GED and at least three years of training beyond high school (gained concurrently or at any time) or three years of related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of installing, maintaining, and inspecting data, voice, security and video cabling.

 

Working Conditions

Physical effort usually require considerable walking, standing, and lifting materials weighing 25 to 50 pounds. Work conditions may be inside or outside, confined spaces, and may be in inclement weather.

 

Additional Information
